Apple revealed four new iPhone models: the iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max. AI features are “designed from the ground up” in these products. More affordable iPhone 16 ($799+) and 16 Plus ($899+) versions now have “Action” buttons and speedier A18 CPUs, which were initially seen in the iPhone 15 Pro models of the previous year. Just a heads up that the “It’s Glowtime” event is just hours away! Let’s quickly go over what we know so far about the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max. We’ve already covered the rumors and leaks about the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, so now it’s time to dive into the Pro models.
The event kicks off at 5 PM UTC, and we’ll be bringing you all the latest updates. In the meantime, here’s a quick recap of what’s been happening over the past few months.
The Launch
Pre-orders for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are expected to start either today or tomorrow, with a likely two-week waiting period. This means the first shipments and in-store availability will probably be on September 20 (Apple usually chooses a Friday for this).
Apple Intelligence
Apple’s big upgrade for iOS 18, Apple Intelligence, has been delayed and will arrive later as part of iOS 18.1. This is why there are two beta branches being tested at the same time. It seems Apple didn’t want to delay the iPhone launch until Intelligence was ready, but we’re expecting it to be a major part of the presentation.

The Design
Not much to say here – we’ve seen photos of iPhone 16 Pro Max dummies, and they look pretty similar to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, except for the new Gold color option (not Brown, as previously rumored!). You’ll also be able to get the phones in Titanium Black, Titanium White, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Gold. If you want more color options, you might want to consider the iPhone 16 or 16 Plus instead.
